ROOF LEAK INSURANCE CLAIMS

roof
The interior of your home or business can sustain extensive water damage resulting from a roof leak. Many people do not realize that many homeowners and commercial lines insurance policies provide coverage for damage to the interior of a building caused by a roof leak. In addition, many people do not understand how to properly present a roof leak insurance claim to an insurance company. A roof leak can cause water to flow down your walls and onto the floor causing severe damage to the interior of your home or business. Although the costs to repair your roof may not be covered under your insurance policy, the damages to your home caused by the leaking water are covered. Insurance companies will not tell you that they are obligated to pay for all ensuing water damage from a roof leak including damage to the ceiling, walls, drywall, electrical system, cabinetry, counter-tops, flooring and any other interior parts of your home or business that sustained water damage. Virtually any ensuing damage resulting from the leakage of water is covered by most insurance policies.

Insurance companies often wrongfully deny roof leak claims or adjust roof leak claims to incorporate only temporary “patch-up” repairs, when, in fact, your home or business requires replacement of everything in the entire damaged area. For example, many times insurance companies are only willing to pay for simple repairs to patch-up drywall, repairs to only a portion of your flooring or repair to only one kitchen cabinet. Your insurance policy, however, and the law, requires your insurance company to pay you for replacement of the entire damaged wall (including new paint that matches the entire premises) and replacement of all of your flooring or kitchen cabinets.

We fight to make sure you are not short-changed by the insurance company and get everything you are entitled to under your insurance policy. If you have a water damage claim resulting from a roof leak that was wrongfully denied or underpaid by your insurance company, or you need assistance with the filing of your roof leak insurance claim.
